Dr. Pei Feng (CEO of GBT): 2025 will open the era of “ultra-fast charging for all residents”
2025-03-28
On March 28, the three-day 2025 China Electric Vehicle Association Forum was held in Beijing. This year's forum to “consolidate electrification, promote intelligent, realize high-quality development” as the theme.
During the forum, Dr. Pei Feng, CEO of Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology and Research Co., Ltd. said in an interview with the media that: energy anxiety has long constrained the popularization of electric vehicles, and ultra-fast charging technology is becoming the key to break the game.
Since the international definition of the XFC standard (0-80% charging ≤ 10 minutes) in 2018, China has made it clear that the goal of 15-minute ultra-fast charging will be realized by 2025, and will eventually evolve to 10 minutes.
GBT is the world's first 7.5-minute 0-80% ultra-fast charging mass production technology in 2022, reaching the ultimate goal three years earlier than the industry standard. Its original technology architecture realizes stable fast charging in all power segments under 6C average power, increasing efficiency by 50% compared to the same period, covering a wider power range and redefining user experience.
Currently, the industry is in a technology race: BYD released its 10C peak technology, Xpeng Motors and GAC Trumpchi accelerated the landing of ultra-fast charging models, and Huawei and other giants entered the market to promote ecological upgrading. User demand drives technology iteration, and ultra-fast charging is evolving from a single technology to a vehicle-pile-network integrated energy ecosystem, signaling that electric vehicles will enter the “zero anxiety” era.
